The move to the Annex in 2008, brought about the expansion of the golf challenge with our new found friends in CORD Development. This regularly saw a field of eight or more competitors. The new field was made up of the originals; Steve Drew, Mark Smith and Darren Morgan (although he seems to have retired to the senior tour of late) and the new originals; Dean Goold, Mike Shemwell, Tim Osmond, Terry O’Donnell and Stuart Deneen. Following the move back to the mothership, we have recruited hard and had a few occasionals and some new regulars, these include Phil Davies, Codey Rees, Ossie Fahiya, Andy White and Marco Oliver. I sincerely hope that they follow in the footsteps of the founding fathers in their role as the new era.
Talking of the new era, two people have shone in terms of their predictive powers. Top of the punting pile is Stuart Deneen followed closely by Dean. Stuart’s average position in each event he enters is second (well 1.9 to be precise). God knows why he is so reluctant to play half the time. Gooldy has an equally impressive average position of 2.8. In a strange twist of fate, two of the least potent players are Steve and Mark – both from the originals with average positions of 5.1 and 5.4 respectively. Trying giving a bit of respect to your peers once in a while eh?
The following table provides a full breakdown of the results thus far, from the 2008 Masters onwards.

However, the true test is the net position of each player. So, I have taken the number of entries, the amounts won and paid in to work out the net position of each player. On this basis there is only one winner:
Entries |
Average position |
Ranked average position | No of entries | No of wins | Entry fees paid | Winnings | Net position |
Steve Drew | 5.1 | 10 | 9 | 1 | 45 | 40 | -5 |
Darren Morgan | 5.3 | 11 | 3 | 0 | 15 | 0 | -15 |
Mark Smith | 5.4 | 12 | 8 | 0 | 40 | 0 | -40 |

I have sent the results off to be audited, and if it is true that Stu is way up on all of this, he will subsequently be banned from future games. This is of course, normal practice for casinos. This also makes Sparks and Shem the biggest donors – thanks fellas!
